I stayed at the Adobe Rose Inn when in Tucson recently to give a talk at the U of A. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone seeking a B&B experience in the area. The proprietors are very friendly and enjoy conversing with their patrons during morning breakfast. The breakfasts were terrific, each involving three courses: fruit, a main, and a scone to finish it off. One morning we had raspberries in vanilla yogurt and steel cut oats with homemade banana ice cream. The next morning it was cantaloupe chunks and pecan pancakes with pears and sausage. The room was nicely sized and had a private bathroom with a large shower stall and stained glass ceiling window. The in-room coffee plus coffee maker was a nice touch and the coffee was good. All in all, whereas I don’t typically seek out B&Bs (this was arranged for me), I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
