A piece of paradise in Tucson

My wife and I typically visit Tucson for 3-4 weekends each year. I attend football games at the University of Arizona nearby and she uses the time to relax. For many years we would typically choose one of the area resorts in early September (cheap summer rates) and then do the rounds of other hotels/motels/inns/b&bs for the remaining weekends, looking for that elusive perfect combination of a great place, at a great location, for a great price.

That was until we stayed at the Adobe Rose 4 years ago for homecoming. Since then, the only time we have stayed elsewhere was for a weekend that the Adobe Rose was already booked. We have no intention of going anywhere else as long as Jim and Marion own it.

They go out of their way to make you feel at home; their hospitality is second to none. Their 3-course breakfasts are cooked fresh each morning, and they will accommodate any dietary needs/restrictions (make sure to let them know before you arrive). They have their own line of scone mixes that they sell separately, and every breakfast is topped by one of their freshly baked scones. They can even do a gluten-free scone!

The common areas and the rooms are nicely furnished and they are all kept spotless. The pool area is your own temporary piece of paradise. The hot tub is a nice touch on a cold night or after a day of rigorous hiking.

You can safely say we’ve found our perfect spot in Tucson. We’ve probably stayed a total of more than 30 nights at the Adobe Rose over the past few years, and we will continue to stay there until Jim and Marion decide to retire!
